Others have already replied, but another testimonial never hurts... :)
Is EQ2 good? I wouldn't have just created a 2nd account to play more alts if I didn't really enjoy it. :)
PvP Servers? Yes there are. PvP isn't for me, so I'm not on them, but I hear a lot of talk from people who think they're quite fun.
Arenas? Well, there are the arena games in MajDul and they've got duelling on the servers... is that what you're looking for?
Crafting... ah... well, there are some who love it and some who hate it (just as there is in WoW I'm sure) ... Tradeskilling underwent a massive overhaul awhile back (got rid of intermediary crafting) and that made a lot of people happy (some of the other changes didn't make people too happy, but we've adapted) I'd give it a try, see what you think.
Auction house? I guess that'd be the brokers... you can put stuff up for sale on the broker and people can buy from you, even when you're not signed in (there's a few rules about that, but it's easy to understand)
What can you look forward to? Let's see... Well, the zones are quite nice. Right out of the box, you've got Antonica & the Commonlands (massive continents with lots of adventures), then you've got the Thundering Steppes (centaurs, gnolls, griffons, undead, oh my!) ... Nektulos Forest (personally, I'd love to have a home there. It's all gloomy... looks like something out of the 50's monster movies) ... Enchanted Lands, Everfrost (still one of my favorite zones to this day)... this is just out of the box. Then you've got the expansions... Desert of Flames, Kingdom of Sky... Faydwer... and there are small mini-packs ('Adventure Packs') with extra content for Nektulos Forest, Thundering Steppes and a special Oriental-style Island adventure. There's plenty to see and lots to do!
I only had a limited exposure to WoW (I didn't really care for the graphics) but I prefer the interface of EQ2 (granted, it was my first MMO, so that might have something to do with it)
Someone else already linked up the URLs for the Trial of the Isle package... Give it a try, see what you think! Hope you have a blast!
