Here's the deal with the newbie island...
When the game first came out, there was one single starting island for both good and evil. Along about the time they added PvP, they split the islands off into two - good and evil. (Wow, I wonder if that's why they did it!)
The good island is called "Queen's Colony" and the evil island is called "Outpost of the Overlord". The layout of each island is the same, (they are just different instances of the same zone). Only the mobs, NPCs and quests are different... oh, wait... thats almost everything!!!
In any event, if you've seen a map of any of the three islands, you've seen them all!
Regarding the maps from EQ2map, they are the very best in ingame mapping. Most folks couldn't play without them. I know I couldn't! As far as out of game maps go, I agree with Stugein that Game Pressure (EQ2 Atlas) has the best hard copy maps around. Now, if only they were printable! If you want something you can keep for reference, The Prima EQ2 Atlas isn't bad for under 15 bucks.
