A discussion popped up while myself and some pals were running through the Corruption in the Faydark signature quest series yesterday. Throughout the course of running the quest we continually referenced the database here for /loc points of targets and directional data. One thing we took note of was that the "Related Quests" section of each individual quest's results page followed seemingly no sort of real order.
Here is the Related Quests section of the Corruption in the Faydark page. You'll notice that there are 8 quests listed. The second quest in the series is "Making it Manifest", but here on the quest page it is listed 6th. The very last quest in the series is "A Predestined Fate" which is listed second here. You have to click through to each individual quest to hopefully see which (if the author decided to write it in) quest is the next one in line. If you follow the quest line further, let's say through to "Tracking Down the Necromancer", you'll see that there are now only 6 related quests and the first one listed is the quest that you completed to start the whole shebang a half dozen quests ago.
What I'd like to see is the related quests listed in some sort of logical progession. This will both alleviate some confusion when planning a quest route and will additionally provide a more complete "flow" through the quest results. Even if the "Related Quests" section is still populated as it currently is, perhaps in addition to the "Started By", "Starting Zone", etc. fields it would be useful to add fields for "Prerequisite Quest" and "Next Quest" for any quests like this that belong to a series or require another quest to be completed before becoming available.
What do you think? Is this feasible under the current database structure? Something that could be implemented easily or would it be a major undertaking? Is this an improvement that the AllaK community would like to see?
Edit - Typo? No, AB+ here.
