That might be funny except for the fact that it isn't what he said (or what you quoted). Read it again, Mearyk said, "...(the) community has been together far longer than you have been posting on it". Which, unless you have been lurking here for the last two years and posting under a different name, is entirely true.

My post was not meant to make a hard or derisive point, or argue anything. I'm sorry you missed my point.

What he/she said, which is what I quoted, applies to everyone. That is my point. My point, which was just something I found funny and not meant to disagree with anything they said, was that this community was here before any one posted. And no, I won't argue the definitions of 'community' or 'here' or any other term open to semantics. The chicken came before the egg and the site came before the visitors.

So if I understand all this, the site was here before the members. But if there's no members there's no site, but if there no site...

...oh look, I've gone cross-eyed.

I hope not. My mother wouldn't lie to me all these years, would she?

A chicken and an egg are laying in bed together. The egg leans over and lights a cigarette and says, "Well, guess that settles that question."

Specific you. Duh.

Every instance of the word "you" in her post referred to the specific you, i.e. gmailcnjmorris.

Give it up.

What we have here, people, is a fine specimen of the pitiful creature, the Bulletinboardus Iyamneverwrongus. It's useless to attempt to reason with it.

This thread needs to die.

I think it would be in everyone's best interest if you would just slowly walk away and let this thread just fade off to the back pages at this point. We're well beyond useful discourse and this is just going to go further downhill from here.

Quoted for Effect.

/cough cough sometimes feeding the troll (not matter how good it feels) is just as bad as being the troll. This thread is accomplishing nothing, let it die. Or better yet start a new thread on a more useful topic to bump this one down.

I was a paid member here during EQ1 days, had my name changed to Madigan from Bendarin. I think it was around 1999 or so when I started using it. SO I am the oldest oldtimer ever.

Alla dropped the ball on EQ2 coverage and lost me and my premium membership, Ogaming and now another site that shall remain nameless to protct it :) have dove very well in meeting my needs. ATM Allas is not but I will keep checking and hoping.

Fix my toolbar! I Need my AllOgaming Toolbar!

I know her intention and target. It was a passing thought. I thought to myself that it seems an odd argument that I attacked a community that was here before I posted on it. How would I have posted if it did not exist? Obviously she meant the people, not the site.

TutanBriarpaw Sage is apparently the only one who took it in the way it was intended, a light passing thought not meant to argue or belittle anyone.

Its not like alla went to OG, cut the head of everyone and then stole their website. get over it. and a nice rate down for you, your post just disappear from most people as soon as you get rated down. Good luck to you my friend.

I keep hearing folks mention rating, but when I try to rate posts it just brings me back to the page with no new buttons. I have looked hard for it. So, do you have to be a paid member to rate posts?

•Wait a minute! I read this guide, and I cant even rate people! Whats wrong?

A user must have a base rating of 3.01, and Scholar status to be able to rate people. Keep posting, you wil get it soon. Goodluck out there.

Its a nice guide that will explain you how karma works. He gives good advice too, like using it to a minimum. Only rate up on post that people took time to think before posting it with a goal of helping. And only rate down on very awful post.

For all the normal post in between, just ignore the system

Alla is a perfect database as it requires you to think. The internet isn't made to cater to morons. Read below V--------V

Negative! As a software developer (retired) in the USAF, a good database is easy and intuitive to use. People in the "It was hard to program, it should be hard to use" school were weeded out a long time ago!

Computers should be hard to use, idiots should be weeded out. But I salute you for your service; I plan on joining the rangers very soon.

Edit: and the reason I can see why a military database needs to be easy to access and quick is due to efficiency in life/death situations. Searching alla for stuff like "what drops <insert generic item name here> for <quest name here>?" is not.

Wow, I feel so silly for desperately clinging to the Ogaming forums all this time. This? This is great. I haven’t seen flames like that since the documentary I watched on the fire bombing of Hamburg.

Why couldn’t posts like this have happened on Ogaming, Stugein? Our jobs would have been so much easier with such clearly defined targets for the Mod Bombs…

Yeah, no kidding. Most of this would have just gone away quietly, into a thin red mist.
