While I am sure there are plenty of competent people here to help you I would recommend going to the
Official EQ2 tech support forums. Help straight from the pros. The responses are usually pretty prompt though it is past CSR hours so you might have to wait until tomorrow morning.
Either way I wish you the best in trying to get it resolved, I know how much of a pain it can be when things don't work right when you have bought a new game.
Also stupid side question (is your directx uptodate)
