I was just thinking, again, about how thrilled I am that one of my sons and his fiancee have begun to play EQ II with me. Last Monday we had a wonderful time playing together. The gig is that every Monday night they come to my place to play. We order Chinese or pizza depending on our mood and cash flow. Meg brings her computer (that I built for her at Christmas) and uses my monitor, mouse and keyboard. My son plays on my secondary computer, which is now my MacBook Pro. Last year I had a desk built that would hold 3 computer side-by-side so we could play together. It's a really awesome set-up.
I have been playing EQ II for about a 1 1/2 years now but always felt I was missing out. When I started playing EQ Live my co-workers played and I was an advisor to a gaming club at the college I work at. We had monthly lock-ins which were basically all night LAN parties that were hosted on campus. In the beginning most everyone played EQ Live. I learned a lot of really neat stuff, short-cuts, macros and such from other players. It also helped me out to see how other players would set up their UI.
This last Monday my son, who has only been playing for about a month, taught me something that was so simple but really awesome. I, being only a few days shy of being a half century old and being realatively new to gaming (only 6-7 years), need to be taught and shown new tricks. This all lead me to the conclusion that I would like to know how other people set up their UI.
Do you put your text boxes on the bottom or on the side? Do you use 3 or more hot key bars and where do you place them? What UI do you use? Show me your stuff! Take a screen shot and share it with all of us. Then if you wouldn't mind could someone explain clearly how you would attach a screen shot?
Thanks, Zoo
