If you could post or PM it to me it would still help. Even if you do have the 9250, there are a still a couple of questions that can answer. It always help when trying to troubleshoot a pc issue to know the stats on that PC. I know you said some things about it, but that is an older model PC so the ability to upgrade it isn't that great really.
As for getting a new one. You could probably get a decent pre-built that will play eq2 better then your old for about 600 bucks, maybe on balanced w/o lag most times. You could pay about 1k and have a system that would probably play it on some of the higher settings if you want.
I'll go browse around and see if I can't find anything and link it for you, in general though you will want to look for:
AMD Athlon or P4 or higher (ANYTHING but a Celeron really, Celeron are sh*t CPUs made for budget PCs and run extremely hot with poor preformance... which is sadly what you'll mainly find in pre-builts, so expect to shell out a little extra)
1gig Ram minimum, if you can upgrade to 2+ you will notice a HUGE preformance increase
256 meg video card, either in AGP or PCI-E slot.
Edit: While i'm not a big fan of pre-built systems, something like
this should run eq2 decently. The 990 priced one will decently run eq2, though tossing in another gig of ram (130 extra in their customizing thing) will help a ton. If you don't want a new monitor you can select to not have one shipped, which reduces the cost by 200 bucks. You could use that to toss in a slightly faster cpu or more ram if you want, since both are under 200 bucks.
While, again, i'm not a big fan of pre-built systems, just from a quick search that seems to be a good pc which should run eq2 fairly well right out of the box. Yes, even though it is only a 128 card it will still run fairly well. I have a 128 card and it runs fine.
