I have seen some tanks with dual STR rings, and dual STR hex dolls(guardian, pally's, etc). Now, I personally build my Tanks STA > AGI > then maybe a little STR. Maybe im missing something in EQ2, but I dont see how STR would benefit a tank in a grp situation. Stamina is to me, the up most vital stat a MT would want, with a side of Agility. However, I would like to hear some opinions on this.
I do understand that having alot of strength would help with holding hate from a mob. However, having x2 STR rings, and dolls, isn't a good thing for a tank. The way I look at it, thats alot of stamina and overall health you would be missing out on. Also, no point in the added hate you get from all that Strength if you got a glass chin, and cant take the hits. I also am under the impression that Mitigation = defense in EQ2. So there's that to consider as well with your tanks gear...
You should never neglect str. Str directly affects a fighter power pool. The stat is very important for fighter class such as berserker, monk and bruiser. These classes rely on damage to generate part of the hate. Also, as you go up in level, your melee damage will actually go down if you do not keep your str up to certain level. This is similar to the int problem of the mage classes. For grouping, go Mitigation, str/sta, wis/agi. For soloing, go Mitigation, str, wis/agi, sta. You will get +3 points to all resists for every point of wisdom. This is more useful than the extra hp you get from sta if you are fighting casters mob. Sta only becomes real important when you MT epic mobs.
