Stats and craftingFollow

I have two toon, both are still on the island. I see that one can make the pristine of one item better then the other. Could your job's stats have something to do with the ease of crafting.

Ex: Blacksmith needing more str

Nope! Whatever you're seeing can be chalked up to coincidence or anomoly.

The crafting system in EQ1 was based on a primary character stat influencing each crafting skill but for EQ2 that posed a problem since SOE's stated desire was for any class or race to be equally adept at any skill... They wanted all things to truly be equal and for everyone to start on a level playing field.

So, in EQ2, the only thing that affects your skill is your relative ability at that craft. The higher level you craft at the better you get at crafting that kind of item and the easier it is for you to do.

Even the size of your power pool can not be used to advantage since trade skill buffs use a percentage of your pool for each buff and not a fixed amount of power.

A level playing field...

ACtually even in eq1 your player stats have nothing to do with the chance of a successful combine, SOE even released a statement years ago to confirm that. However your stats in eq1 did increase your chance at skill ups. For instance if your STR was higher then WIS/INT then STR would increase your chance for successful blacksmithing combines.

I have actually found with the eq2 tradeskill system I can still get less then pristine on a combine that is 30 levels below me if I don't use my counter skills etc.
