Hello, me and a buddy are thinking of starting up on eq2 and wondering what classes/races duo well together. I have played EQ for a long time an ive been playing wow for a while and now i am totally disgusted by wow and was hoping eq2 was a better game over all. Anyway was wondering what would be a good combo of classes to play as friends, thanks

Most any class will work well with a healer.

You could either go with a tank/healer or DPS/healer.

With a healer and a pet clas, the pet can tank while the caster nukes and the healer heals the pet. It's almost like you had a trio.

As far as choice of healer, I would suggest a druid, (warden or fury), because they heal well and also provide the best DPS of any healer so it's kind of like bonus damage for the duo.

I play both a warden and a fury and have done real well as the healer in duos with a guardian - (tank), a ranger - (DPS), and a conjurer - (DPS). I have also had some great duos with another druid - (fury) so you have plenty of good options.

But the bottom line is that both of you should play whatever you think will be fun. This game is so well balanced that any duo can survive and prosper so if you play characters that you like, your immersion will be greater and you will be more likely to stick with the character.

If you just play what someone tells you to there will be no connection and you will likely get bored.

And during character selection, when you are choosing your server, consider Najena. There's a bustling population, lots of guilds in all levels, and folks in every zone.

When you get there, look me up. I can help you get started with gear, spell upgrades, directions, and some coin.

Good luck!
