The problem with soloing as a ranger or any scout type is while faster the a templar (Im one too) after your initial attack you cant use most of your abilities cuz you need to be stealthed or behind your target or in the rangers case get far enough away to shoot them.
This is not an accurate statement. At lvl 34 I only have 3 CAs that require me to be stealthed and one of those is a ranged attack and the other two are almost never used, (by me).
I solo my ranger a lot and after pulling with a bow, I normally use melee to finish the mob off. Typically, I will use one or more of 4 different melee HO "completer" options to speed up the encounter. (I also have 2 different ways to advance an HO.)
These 4 options are in addition to more than half a dozen ranged options so obviously, you can see that 3 is not "most" of 13 (3 stealth + 4 melee + 6 ranged). 3 is not even "most" of 7 (3 stealth + 4 melee)...
Add to all of this the blinding speed of a ranger with a pair of fast DW weapons and you have a very good soloer. As a rule, a solo mob of white or better con is down into yellow or even orange health while still incoming. So melee for my ranger is pretty much "mop up" of whatever the mob has left in him! In fact, I enjoy soloing with my ranger so much that I honestly can't decide which I like better... my ranger or my warden... either one is a stone killer when left on his own!
