Hello eq2 fans.
I am a former 50 assassin from Mistmoore. I got fed up with a number of things last April and decided to end my adventures in Norrath.
I am not writing this to gripe to you about the game, but rather because I saw a lot of potential in EQ2, but was un happy at the time, with the way things were going.
To give a frame of reference, I quit just at about the time the new crafting events went into play. I mean the chances to receive a buff to durability, complete the item, or even a rare material. Also I believe food types had just been given a stat bonus, or were about to receive it.
Anyway, Sony has been emailing me about "faster advancement" and "solo content" and "new loot".
My questions are as follows:
Has tradeskill advancement been increased? One of the things I did not enjoy about eq2 was crafting. As much as I enjoyed saying I was a "war haggler" I couldnt take the long hours of grinding necessary to advance crafting past the low 30's.
Also, I was a woodworker, and had very few useful recipees. It seemed so much cheaper to buy fulginate arrows than to spend many painful hours to level woodworking high enough to make them. Also, at the time it really was no cheaper to make arrows, the only advantage were the choice between crushing/piercing/slashing.
As far as solo content:
Assassins were a bad solo class at the time because their damage potential relied heavily on a tank to keep the mob facing in the appropriate direction for a backstab.
However I didnt really care about solo play, but what I did want was more 6-man content. I completed a good deal of 24-man content, I had my prismatic weapon, killed venekor, vox and such... but I found organizing 24 person groups to be a pain.
Has any more "high end" small group content been added?
As far as new loot:
Speaking of Venekor and Vox, I always hated killing an end game mob and not getting a master chest, or getting a master chest with a cedar railing, and some rubicite gear. Then on the way out of the dungeon a master chest would drop from lizerd man # 32325 with better loot than the raid boss.
Has the consistency of drops been stabilized?
I realize I rushed my way into the high end, and that it would be a while before Sony had time to straighten everything out. However my main criticism of Sony is their tendence (in my opinion) to release new content before the old problems are fixed.
Thanks in advance to anyone who answers this post :)
