Once I arrived on the island, there were a couple things that struck me as being wildly different from EQ.
1) Money is really tight! A couple of copper can make your day. Early on, sell everything you can't use don't hang on to any item because it "may" be useful later on. When "later on" does come, there will probably be better gear falling off the mobs and being handed out by the quest givers so take the money and run!
Besides, saving stuff early on only leads to #2, which is:
2) Space is also really tight. While you're on the island, you won't have access to anything larger than a 4 slot bag and even if you learn to craft, 4 slot bags and/or 4 slot boxes are probably all you will manage to make for yourself so don't waste what little space you have.
This theme will carry over even after you leave the island since for a while at least you won't be able to afford the larger bags and boxes that will taunt you from the broker's window!
One last thing... if you thought druids rocked in EQ, just wait till you see them strut in EQ2!!! They are arguably the best healer in the game and one of the strongest soloers to boot!
Prized by both group and raid, both wardens and furys, (the 2 druid sub-classes), tend to be actively recuited by guilds on every server! On top of all that, they are absolutely qualified to go it alone... what more could you ask from a toon!
