Out of the Wizard's fire/cold and the Warlock's disease/poison, which one is less resisted by monsters?
Different mobs at different zones have different resists, so there is no "best" class to pick based on that. You will typically find that if it's resistent to one type of damage, you just use a different type.
I've fought named mobs that are immune to most weapon types, and cast a Cure Aracne each tic, meaning it sheds my DoT's (Damage over Time) each tick. FOund only 1 spell that would damage it, so as I'm running with it chasing me, the pet is chasing it. It was Varsoon, by the way.
Necro's are very effective with their pet, and they get several "flavors" of pets that do attacks and damage a certain way. The pet keeps the agro so you don't get hit. At least that's the plan, until you pull agro and the mob comes after you.
Wizards/Warlocks have roots/stuns that keep the mob at a distance, but with the live update coming expect those to get resisted and not last as long.
I've played a pet class since launch and have a lot of fun and utulity with it. I like it better than just being a cannon of blasting damage.
