Ok, gather round... it's story telling time...
A little more than a year ago, a bunch of the regular posters on the Alla EQ boards got together in THIS thread and decided to start an Allakhazam based guild in EQ. Initially they were to be called "Deciples Of Alla" or DOA for short! Unfortunately, Alla could not give them his blessing (since it would associate the guild with a commericial venture and increase his liability... whatever that means!)
Anyway, the stalwart adventurers settled on the name Aude Sapere, (Latin for "Dare to know"), and the new guild settled in on Morden Rasp to begin the task of raising some toons. Word spread and the guild grew until today, they are one of the finest guilds on Povar, (server merge).
Yours truly was a founding member and is still an officer in that guild, (although I am on an extended leave of absense).
And the point of this rambling tale is, (I hear you cry)... well, this community has really come together... so, isn't it about time we discussed all meeting up in-game and leaving our mark?
What I propose is that we choose a server, all roll up a single toon and meet on the island, then head for the city to form a guild for the purpose of playing together... oh, say one evening a week. Maybe like a Tuesday Night Fight Club.
I don't want us to transfer existing toons or leave current guilds or anything like that. I just think that with the variety of classes and skill sets represented by the regulars, we could field a kick-a$$ bunch of heros!
We could make posting on the boards here a requirement for initial membership and see where it goes from there.
I believe that if we pull together and help each other out in-game as we do here, the guild would have the kind of built-in structure that SOE was hoping for when they designed the game. (Can you say interdependency... I knew you could!)
What say you?
