that would be correct. Newest windows OS. Looks pretty sweet, will have a few screenshots later.
Install took about 20 minutes. Very simple that i think my mother can do the install without knowing what she is doing. That was the time of booting up with the windows DVD to being at my desktop.
All drivers but the 56k modem on my laptop were installed.
Boot up time was less about 15 secs.
Installed EQ2 and it runs just like my xp was running.
This is a 3.4ghz p4 extreme edition with gig of ram and a 256mb gefoce 6800 gp ultra.
Will full with it for about a week on my laptop and if it works good i will format my real laptop harddrive and put it on. Got a spare drive so my orginal data will not be lost.
hmmm with nothing loaded and idle on the desktop after reboot. Takes up 454 megs of ram. I switch to windows classic view it drops to 364 megs hahah. Yeah. 90 megs just for the extra visuals.
I just thought that was extremely high. More then double what my computer used idle.
There is a 32bit and 64bit version of the OS. wont touch the 64bit till intel releases more 64bit chips. Plus i will not be using it till a lot later when they make it so it wont take up as much ram. its just crazy to take up that much.

454 MB RAM?!? that seems a bit crazy to me, if that's true then i won't touch vista with a 10 foot pole.
yup, that is very true. It is still in beta. And i know business's wont really touch that thing at all. Our standard build at work for computers are 256 megs of ram. 512 for the people that actually need it. I dont see us upgrading 3000+ pcs to 768 megs of ram just to hand standard apps.
