There are no Port spells in EQ2, unlike EQ1. I had a 30 Druid in EQ1 and loved the ability to quickly get around.
There are several ways in EQ2 to get around, port-style:
- Docks/Bells. There is a bell in almost every city zone that leads to the other zones. Click on the bell and you go to that zone. If you are going for the first time as part of an access quest, you will get dumped on the boat encounter. Do your homework and be with a group!
There is a merchant in Qeynos Harbor that sells ferry tickets to the higher zones (Zek, EF, Everfrost, etc) Buy a ticket then go the bell right on the pier.
NOTE: I have found that if you have not done the access quest for that zone, it will not let you board. You must buy a ticket for a "nearby" zone, and bell-hop to where you want to go. I usually buy the (cheaper) Zek ticket, then run around the pier to the Everfrost bell.
- The pier in Thundering Stepps has the bell for Nek Forest, Feerott, and Zek.
- Nek Forest has a bell back to TS and one to Enchanted Forest.
- Enchanted Forest has a bell to Lavastorm.
- Zek has a bell to Everfrost.
Additionally, there is the sewer system, which also connects many city zones with each other, and the Down Below.
For land travel:
- Griffon Towers in Antonica/Commonlands
- Spirit of the Wolf Totem (I always use this, carry at least 2)
- Pally Horse
- Store-bought horses
- Journeymans Boots
- Buffs from Druids or Scouts (I think there's others, too)
Download EQ2map and install it. It has a ton of maps, points, info. It also has a world map showing how each zone is connected to others.
