I did something the other night that I've been meaning to get to for some time now.
A couple weeks ago I was in T-Steppes and found myself unable to get the quest for 24/7 access to the bridge. Problem was the quest giver is Halasian and I didn't speak Barbie!
So, during some non-adventuring down time earlier this week, I took my main (and a couple alts), on a whirlwind tour of all the villages in Qeynos, intent on learning to speak every language I could.
Final cost was 1g 20s per character, (12s X 10 languages). And the ultimate benefit is that I can now take on any quest, no matter what language the quest giver speaks.
In each village, you will need to visit whichever NPC sells app 2 spells in that village. This is often an apothacary or an alchemist. And in most cases, the spell shop is marked on your in-game map with a scroll. Just scroll down the merchant list, buy the book and move on. You will now know that language.
Here are the locations/languages of all 10 languages for those of you who want to do this:
Castleview - Guktan & Koada'Dal (Froglok & High Elven)
Greystone - Dwarven & Halasian (Barbarian)
Nettleville - Kerran
Starcrest - Erudian
Baubleshire - Gnome & Stout (Halfling)
Willow Wood - Ayr'Dal & Fier'Dal (Wood Elven & ?)
Took less than an hour and now everyone in Qeynos speaks common!
