It took me forever to figure out my buffs and how to use them properly. Now I think I have the hang of it. I'm a level 16 Outfitter and last night I made a Pristine Burlap Blouse (level 19) on my first try. Then I made pristine burlap pantaloons (level 18). I got 18 % exp for the blouse and 14% exp for the pantloons! woo hoo...
I didn't know I got 3 extra buffs at level 10, until 5 levels later, hehe.
For light Tailoring I have a hotkey bar set up with the following tailoring buffs set up (in order from 1 to 6):
+prog -power, +dura -power, +prog -dura, +dura -prog, +prog chance fail, +dura chance fail.
So what I do is I start buffing with 1, 3, 5. When the tick hits, if it's a normal tick (-10 +50 plus the buff modifiers (-16 +78)) then I continue to buff with 1,3,5.
As soon as I see a failure (-46 or more durability loss) I immediately cast 2,4,6 (simple shift my fingers over one spot). That usually results in a +20 +25 on the next tick. If so, I'll gradually go back to prog. I'll do 2,4,5 or 2,3,5. Keeping the durability buff in the mix until i've regained my losses (I try to keep it above 25% on the Pristine bar). Then back to 1,3,5 for progress.... Repeat strategy. Works great for me!! Those dura buffs really sap my power though. Definitely need HIGH satiation drink or better for crafting anything higher than your own level.
Anyone have any other techniques they use?
Anyhow, my other question (sorry, two topics, one post...) is about selling stuff... I'm not a scholar, but I can make level 10 alchemy things like Stroma Wash. Then again, nowadays apparently any level 1 person can do it with the new skills they added, hmpf... I buy tuber cheap, craft a bunch of Wash and sell it for between 1.5 and 2.5 silver. THat's about 600-800% profit. They sell like hotcakes...
Why would someone buy wash for 2s when they can make it for like 40c? Oh well. keeps my bank account increasing :).
How about a topic about inflation? I've been trying to maintain stroma oil and resin prices at 1s. Some people sell for 4s and some sell for 40c. I usually buy out the 40c people so I can have the cheapest price, heheh. is that bad? I tend to sell for 95c so that I'm always the lowest price for stroma stuff and it seems to work well. I like to try to keep inflation in check by not being too greedy. would like to hear some thoughts about this though.. thanks :)
