Hi folks,
I've been playing the game since release. I have a Station "All Access" pass, so I have 8 character slots (actually 12, due to my wife's account). All but 1 of my 8 character slots have a character in them, and I'm working all of them up. My 2 highest characters are a level 20 Conjuror and a level 20 Paladin.
Notice the pattern?
Try as I might, I can *not* for the life of me figure out what the "carrot" is that should be dangling in front of my face pressing me to level higher. In EQ1, the "carrot" was always present. For example: As a necromancer in EQ1, I could say things like "wow, at level 8 I get my first mana regen spell!" and "at level 24 I get my first dark-boned skeleton pet!" (yeah, I'm old school, haha), and "at level 34 I can turn myself into a skeleton!" and "at level 44 I get Dead Man Floating!". All these things were "watershed" events in the life of a necromancer as they levelled. They were things you could point to and look forward to.
What are those things in EQ2 that exist *beyond* level 20? I've looked at all of the spell lists and am left with a feeling of...."bleh".
Sometimes you see a particular class do something and it makes you think "wow, I'd really like to do that too!" So you roll up an alt of that class and have at it. For me, I saw a conjuror turn into a fire elemental and thought "That's too cool!" So I rolled a conjuror. I also saw a Paladin summon a horse and thought "That's too cool!" So I rolled a Paladin. But I'm not seeing anything *beyond* that right now.
So what keeps *you* guys moving forward? When YOU got YOUR level 20 class, what was it that made you want to keep going? What are you looking forward to in the 20's? In your 30's? In your 40's? And what is the reason YOU want to hit level 50 that is specific to your class?
