Hi folks,
[Edit: Please don't misinterpret this. I'm not ranting. Well...not TOO much, haha ;) I'm merely trying to explain my reasoning behind my decision. Perhaps some more advanced crafters can add to this or shed some light on where I'm wrong/right.]
I will no longer be crafting Tier 2 spells/abilities for sale on the market. Why? Because they won't sell off my merchant for any more than a Tier 1 spell. However, they take me three times as long to make, cost more in the process, and have a higher less-than-pristine-combine rate.
In fact, I won't even be taking special orders for them unless they are at a substantially marked up price to make it worth my time and effort.
Please realize, those of you who are looking for these spells and wonder why they are priced higher than Tier 1 spells, that while it takes me 2-3 hours to make 20 Tier 1 spells (this includes sub-combines), it takes me anywhere from 8-10 hours to craft the same number of Tier 2 spells. And that is if I decide NOT to harvest a single resource! And I'm certainly not going to triple or even quadruple that already godawful long time by harvesting my own raw materials. Add to that the fact that Tier 2 spells actually fail to combine at "Pristine" (i.e. "Apprentice IV") on occasion, even though the spell took me JUST AS LONG to craft as the others, you can see how hideously unreal it is to expect us crafters to seriously sell Tier 2 spells regularly.
So, for now, I will stick with the Tier 1 spells, as I can make an entire "batch" in one play session, and be reasonably certain that I will have sold out of my inventory by the following morning.
Until the pricing expectation of the playerbase seriously changes for this tier, I think folks are going to have to be happy with their App II's until they manage to somehow win a roll on their Adept 1's. At least as far as THIS scholar is concerned.
