I'm on the Maximum Performance setting (lowest quality), then I go in and adjust a few items. Increased the model renderings (from 1 to 5), turned spell effects back on, etc.
Of course when I go into combat my frames-per-second drop drasticly, but then it all washes out.
I've cranked up the video performance level a few times to get a good screenshot. I was still able to move around with relative ease, but there was an obvious drop in smoothness.
One thing that bugs me is a "tick" in the video. Especially apparant when I run, about once every 1-2 seconds there is a slight "skip" in the video.
Anyone else seen that?
Happy with what I got, but ready for an upgrade! I'll probably go big and get a new motherboard and processor, but that will require a reformat of the hard drive. :(
Surprise I got when I bought my 512 chip was there was only 2 slots on my motherboard for RAM. That forced me do remove a 256MB chip and replace with a 512MB chip. Net gain of only 256MB. :(
Best thing for you to do would be add a 512MB+ DDR RAM chip. With the other compnenets you got, you would fly with 1GB+ of RAM. A 512 chip can cost anywhere from $75-$100. Got mine for $90'ish at Fry's. :)
