Anyone who has played EQ I in the past year knows about the tokens for backpacks, bags, quivers, etc...
Was a fantastic idea... so WT Hell happened to them in EQ II?
How hard would it be to integrate that code into the current software??? Patch it on test and see how it goes!
Perhaps have the brokers trade the packs for your posted ammount for a token (not stackable) and let you sell them in the merchant mode in your room.
I made 20 Tanned Leather Backpacks last night... (6 standard & 14 pristine)....
I then headed for the newbie zone of Oakmyst and /auctioned them for 5sp each... These are 8-slot 5% & 10% WR packs... you would think they would sell. NOBODY accepted my offers...
In fact I was /petitioned for spamming. (Maybe I deserved that, maybe not.)
The closest pack the vendor sells is a Tanned Leather Satchel (6-slot 0% wr) that costs about 6sp 40cp (varies from merchant to merchant)
I wasn't trying to take advantage of people and I was still petitioned.
This led to me having a discussion w/ a GM about spamming a zone. I mean WT Hell? I tried to talk to him about the fact I can only sell 6 at a time in vendor mode.
He said there hasn't been enough people asking for the tokens yet but he would put it on his comments list.
I got the idea that its right up there with gifting 1 gp to ALL starting players... BLEH.
Anyone else feel this needs to be changed?
