Strategy question:
Is there any good reason to invite someone into a group when they are still a fair distance away from the rest of the group, and have to make a long run through dangerous territory to reach the group? How many times have you heard, "Well, we grouped with Soandso and as he ran to catch up with us he died and we all got debt"? I had an absolutely horrible pick-up group encounter last night (I know, pick up groups often suck but when you're not guilded you do what you gotta do). Nice folks, but one dude was invited when still at zone-in and while making his way to us he aggro'ed and we wiped ugly (and believe me the evening only got worse from there). So, why invite someone when there's a very real possibility that something like this will occur? Is there a strategy to the long-distance invite, am I missing something here?
