Last night I was clearing my inventory of things like:
Soapweed
Field Maple
Withered Mushrooms
Etc... (you get the picture -- Antonica foraged stuff)
Anyways, I figured to skill-up making washes, oils, etc. and clear my packs at the same time. Well I bought a 2x stacks of candles (240cp) & 2x stacks of liquid (240cp)... Well after that I used about 14 of each clearing inventory and when I sold the T2 combines I was surprized to see that the vendor offered 50cp EACH!
Nothing like making 7sp real quick...
So I rushed upstairs to the broker and he had dozens of T2 components for 1cp each.
If SoE finds this out I think I hear a nerf hammer coming... sounds kind of trivial for someone to spend 13-15cp to make 50cp but with the economy so deviod of cash any little bit helps.
I combined all 6 of my character's cash and only had ONE gold!
I think I have found my cash cow...
Also, along these same lines, people are now selling Turquiose, Electrum & Iron Clusters for 1-4cp each.
Since you can make Eolith Tempers fairly easily you get 3-4 from each combine.
They sell to the vendor for 17cp each. It cost you:
1 Candle 6cp (unless you really get unlucky and start over)
1 Liquid 6cp (I get cheap & hunt the Caves - Gnoll Spit..free)
1 Component 1-4cp
All told you're only out 16cp at worst...you get 34-51cp profit selling to the vendor.
Of course you can sell them to the bazaar (which I did). On the Befallen broker the Eolith Tempers were selling for 50-150cp. Being greedy just leaves you in trader mode to long.. I priced mine for 27cp each and they FLEW off the shelf. Not sure if other traders were buying them for profiteering but I don't care, 'cause I got my money.
Again, it may not seem like much of a profit considering you can sell foraged rares for 1+gp.. so I guess people will tell me to just keep foraging but this fills a need. Many people would rather not spend their time making these lower level combines... They are still green to me so away I go...
I can make about 30-40 combines per hour and haven't failed yet (I classify a failure as shaped or crude). This leads to about 120 Eolith tempers.
Do the math ---
120 tempers = 2040cp to a vendor
40 Candles = 240cp
40 Liquids = 240cp (assuming you don't hunt for it)
40 Components= 120cp (average price, not foraging...)
Total = 1440cp profit
While I could be making more money hunting I need to make these tempers anyways. I seriously doubt as a level 14 Warrior that I could make 14 silver/hour hunting. At least not without accumulating a significant exp debt. And my luck in groups hasn't been that stellar. I suck at the lottery!
So, I will be doing fairly well, at least untill Eolith Tempers turn grey.
PS: I have looked at the cost of turning out crude Iron Bars (which sell for 1sp each) but their cost ratio isn't as good as the Tempers... you NEVER get 3-4 bars from a combine (at least I haven't seen it yet...)
