You really can't afford to roleplay. MMORPG's aren't really designed for roleplay and this game especially leaves no room for it. At best, the only "roleplaying" you can do is talking crap about other races within your group in between fights.
I completely disagree. Clearly you haven't spent much time in the company of roleplayers on AB or Lucan. There is a lot of room for RP in the game, and I (and many others) personally feel that it adds a lot to the experience. Rather than just grind, grind, grind to the top, we take our time, get to know one another, and have fun with our characters. People host RP events where we all get together for a night of festivity at one of the local taverns, or for a story telling session or something like that. There are many things to do in these games other than just rush through the levels.
As for talking crap about the other races, that's just poor man's RP. It's an attempt, I suppose, but it's not a very good one. Nice job with the "facts" there.
The true fact is that RP is what you and others make of it. If you want to craft an elaborate story for your character, you can. If you just want to have a basic personality for your character and work out the rest, that's fine too. The key element in any RP experience is you. If you make the most of the experience, then you'll end up having a lot of fun.
