Now, at around level 10, tradeskill wholesaler tasks -- that is, the ones where you have to harvest 15 electrum clusters or tubers or maple -- were actually a great source of income. 12 silver for each outing turned out pretty well.
Once I joined a more specific crafting society and got production orders for JumJum wine (a simple recipe, 20 craftings to make: 10 for the jumjum juice, and 10 more to turn those into wine), I figured they would pay even better, considering the extra effort and money that needed to go into fuel and basic ingredients. I was taken a little by surprise when it turned out to pay just 9 silver -- less than the wholesaler's quest!
I got another work order some levels later, for ten laborer's vests. These things were a lot more complicated, and it took 90 craftings to finish all 10, not including basic resins and washes. But this only paid 9 silver too! I'd been ripped off. I'd spent so much on fuel, I barely turned a profit.
So now that I'm done ranting, here's my question: Just how much do the different tradeskill quests pay... and do they ever become profitable?
Just trying to turn a little cash to support my habit.
Thanks.
