but if you understand On line RPG as surfing websites looking for guides,in order to understand the game...well, that is a new definition of the genre.
No actually it isn't. All Online games have a considerable online presence in terms of fansites etc, etc.
Not only that every time you log in the login screen offers you links to guides on the SoE site. Recently there have been some excellent threads on crafting for absolute beginners.
Besides which you obviously feel that coming to this site is a perfectly normal part of your gaming activity. Where do you draw the line? It's ok to come here and whine but not to actually look at anything which might help you?
Miravelle is obviously a nice person but she had you bang to rights.
For what it's worth I know some EQ1 players who have made a total hash of EQ2 because they just carried on as if it was EQ1 with different graphics. It is not a given that people are expected to know these things. It may be a given that people who played EQ1 had learned that Allakhazam was a useful place to go for information and answers - but you seem to have got that far by yourself.
And I would guess that the work SoE has put into the sites accessed by the links on the login screen would be part of what they call an "easy learning curve". The in-game help is also there to be used.
There is also the element of "mystery". If every quest had meticulous details of where to go and what to go there would be no discovery. A large part of these games is in the discovery of how things work and learning ways of making them work to your advantage. Sure you make some mistakes along the way but nothing unrecoverable. I'd rather have that than too much help.
