I'm beginning to notice some odd imbalances about this game. Quite obviously SoE have done their usual thing and made quest rewards level-appropriate if won with a full group. This makes sense but it does mean that if you solo or duo you are going to be continually getting green quests.
What is a bit wierd is that the rewards are sometimes unwearable. Take nice Mr Dane Steelfist. He gives out decent boots for killing badgers and wolves which are about level 14. However two of the reward options are Chain and Plate boots - not wearable till you are 20. They are still decent then and I'm glad I kept them but it seems a bit strange. Even lower there is a nice shield quest in the Peat Bog but the some of the rewards are not wearable by anyone who should be killing Bog Sludges.
Perhaps it explains why when I'm working on a quest I suddenly see someone (often on a horse) come in and slaughter the entire area which must be terribly grey to them.
I think it is the Journal that does it too. It generates a compulsion to clear quests and deletion seems like defeat so people finish off their quests regardless of the benefit or greyness of the mobs involved.
Of course some quests do rely on chest drops and are no longer possible - I doubt I will ever "Bark like a Gnoll" now
