You need to remember that the reason they added AA's to begin with, back in EQ1, was because they totally screwed up the normal advancement system to begin with.
Yeah, when you only have 1 way to advance your character, you're gonna need an alternate way of doing it if you're going to stay interested in the game. EQ1 was all about the grind. That's all it was, that's all it is, and that's all it ever will be.
The EQ1 quest system was nowhere near as robust and usable as the EQ2 system is. All they'll need to do in this game is add more quest content. Also, you can join NPC-run organizations in this game. So, what's to stop them from making prefix titles earnable through doing tasks for whatever organization you join?
The day EQ2 raises the level cap for the first time (or adds its first "AA") will be the day EQ2 officially "jumps the shark", for lack of better words. Make the original 50 levels enjoyable at *every* level, and they'll never be a need to raise the cap or add alternate advancement methods.
