Unlocking FroglocksFollow

During beta they were also there but greyed out. I am guessing next expansion either there will be a quest so you can play them or they will become playable. I would like to see some sort of a creative quest that you have to do to unlock them.

Well....today is Feb 16th 2005. We think we found the answer. To ensure that credit not only goes to the server but to our guild and players involved, we will hold on detailing our discovery.

I cant believe how amazingly lucky my friend was to discover the answer. We know 100% for sure this is the key to unlocking froglocks! Whats involved with completion we dont know yet. I will tell you that we both took a day off work and worked on it for 15 hours straight. We needed alot of help within guild and random players alike. Due to the amount of time we have invested I can give you two clues to get you started (you cant catch up before we finish). (1) In eq1 NPC's required a typed answer to a specific question. Random luck bought my friend the clues. Find the NPC and you'll be on your way! (2) - Magical reflection in the water!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We will keep you appraised when we discover more but this is HUGE and credit for finding it is going to be great. Once unlocked we will post ALL our findings here so all can unlock the froggies.

Wish us luck!

If noone can catch up, why not give out the name of the npc who starts it?

Just an update. We have come to a point that requires that we level. It's the only thing we can think of as to why we cannot enter a specific part of this quest. We did unlock some new items and have found that this is going to require someone good as well as evil to complete. Both players have to be at the same junction in the quest and it takes place at the same time in 2 zones. We have brought in some more help. Still sworn to secrecy Im afraid. We lost a guildy that is doing the same quest on the Blackburrow server. So we may not be first if we dont hurry and level. Thats all Ive got but Ill come back in a few days and let you know more.

Good luck!

Could you at least give us a hint as to which zone it starts in? Coming here and saying you found something but can't go any further because of levels isn't nice. =p

Well then unlock them already. Dont play mind games or act like some chick talking gossip dude!!! You want credit? FINE im sure youll get plenty. But untill we see the frogloks unlocked your just like all the other hundreds of shmoes out there claiming that u got it figured out because ive hered so many rumors i think your full of crap. Dont get me wrong if you are acctually the guild to unlock them God bless you dude!!! but personally i guess i can understand if you want credit because hell i would want it to. But whatever you decide i recomend you make your move. I have a friend who recentally quit eq2 and when i was talking to him i was crafting and my friend said "why in the hell do you bother! no matter how hard you try its always the guy next to you who is getting the money and the sells" Basically what im saying is ya you are close but What if the guild next to you is on the scent also on a diffrent server. (think about that) ;)

ok first off the only persong that will be able to unlock the frogs is either a dev or a frind of a dev how got the dev drunk and got the secrets out of him for you to say that you have the clues but your keeping it a secret is like this.
i did the same thing but i wasn't going to sayanything yet i am at the last part of unlocking them i just can't beat the last guy yet . i have found the answer there is one guy to deafeat and it will take a raid of 1000 ppl but im not telling you his name. ohh and the quest take over 2 years to get to wear i am so it you want to start start by talking to misha bogsmut. she wanders from zone to zone so i can't tell you were to find her.
blahhh blahhh blahhh.

Just a comment about the debate of if the Frogloks will be unlocked only on the server that does the quest or the whole game...

You choose your race BEFORE the server select, so once ONE server finishes the quest, everyone would have access. How else would the game client know that you are playing on that server beforehand? The game client would have to allow everyone the option of Froglok, thus revealing that it had been completed.

Because the Dev's have said MANY times that it's a serverwide quest not game wide.

Check out this thread on the EQ2 forums and you will see how they are going to handle it.

Come on Aelin, where's the update on progress. It's been over two weeks. hehe I hope you really did find the quest and it's just taking a really long time, but in this case, I doubt that.

Just for the record, if they just started an heritage quest without knowing it, 15 hours isn't much to complete one of them. Until we get some hard info it ain't much to report. The fact that their whole guild have to level before completing implies that they found something that the guilds filled up with lvl 50 players that have nothing else to do then play all day haven't stumbled upon yet, which is unlikely at best.

I knew before I even considered playing eq2 this quest would be something thta only your top few lvl 50 players would even stand a chance to complete.

I know one thing though, I imagine the server that completes this quest first is going to have a huge load of people on there the first few days. You know everybody is going to want to play a froglok reguardless of what server its on.

I imagine though once the quest information is released it won't take too long for other servers to get it done.

I saw a froglok once a while ago in Antonica as well.. he hopped by pretty fast and I was fighting so didn't catch him. I thought maybe they had been unlocked...lol. But when I logged back in, no luck. Forgot all about it till I read the post by someone who saw one in Commonlands. Had never heard of the illusion but that would explain it. However have never seen one since except NPC's in the city.

Dev's just posted that it was impossible to unlock Froglocks until now, and that in the May 2nd update a quest will be added / live event to unlock them.

Forum: EverQuest II : Gameplay : Characters : The Coming of the Frogloks - Date 04-13-2005 12:00 PM

We know that many of you have been anxiously awaiting the chance to play a froglok character. As we announced before launch, we decided to tie the availability of the frogloks into a major game-changing event. Since some of you have been searching for clues about how to unlock the froglok race, we wanted to provide an update on their availability and pass along a bit of insider info on what's about to come.

After making the decision to hold back the frogloks at launch, we gave our art team some extra time to enhance their animations and armor appearances. Since frogloks are the most distinct race from a physical perspective, they require handcrafted animations to take full advantage of their unique characteristics. To accomplish this, we decided to delay them a bit longer so we could release them in the most polished manner possible.

This also gave our Live Events team the chance to plan something really cool for their unveiling. I'm pleased to report that the live event for May is going to be the unleashing of the frogloks!

Players will be able to complete solo quests that allow them to play froglok characters on their own EverQuest II account. Unlocking the race for the whole server will involve the completion of an elaborate series of quests that culminate in an epic raid zone event that will challenge even the most seasoned adventurers. This is your chance to defeat the evil force that has kept the froglok spirit imprisoned for so long.

As part of Live Update #8, scheduled to hit the live servers the week of May 2, players will be receiving new animation files for the frogloks. This will kickoff the beginning of the froglok live event.

We realize some of you froglok fans out there would have preferred to receive this information sooner, but we decided to stay quiet until the Live Events team had finished their planning. We think the wait will be worth it, and players will have a lot of fun participating in this major event.

ok well that means i didnt figure it out lol.. i just recently got to lvl 32 and went to the mage tower in SQ to see if there was a new clickable books that i could get..well one of them from (i think the red portal) gave me a book called deep marshes and it talked about frogloks and how they were locked away... anyway the quest was to kill some jungle leapers (only found in feerrott)

so now im lvl 32 and workin on exp so i can get those leapers... but i was wrong.. anwyay =/ (also proves that the other people were wrong/lying)

Actually I think the forest leapers can be found in Nektulos on the beach straight out from the docks before the hill to the path to commonlands. At least I'm pretty sure that's what attacked me my first time through there at lvl 15 for betrayl. All I know is that it hit me for around 230 or so. Lucky for me being a summoner my pet distracted it ang gave me time to run away. =P But I could be wrong. I just know whatever it is I will have my revenge yet!! =P

Before everyone beats themselves up about trying to figure this out - read the SOE post carefully. How many times did SOE change things around in EQ and then tell us that it was all part of a master plan?

I don't trust them (SOE) anymore now than we all learned to back in '99. They may well have just changed their mind. Any number of x-insiders have confirmed the lack of honesty many times.

Keep looking for new quest threads in the game. We know there are many unsolved problems.

no those are the wrong ones... if those are forest leapers than i need jungle leapers (not sure it may be creaprs...) so wichever ones in nek its not those... its the ones in feerrott

So let me get this straight. They have had us on a wild goose chase for absolutely nothing. There is nothing a player or a guild could have done to speed the process of unlocking frogloks. They had planned from the start to delay the frogloks from being a usable race from the start??

If this is true why did they even tell us about them?? There has been players searching for clues and quests involveing the frogloks forever now. Now they come out and say they haven't even had the files to allow players to be a froglok. Sorry but that is just BS!!

If they wasn't ready for Frogloks then they should have just say they wasn't ready. I really feel sorry for the people who have looked for the the quests and clues to unlock Frogloks.
