I think RoninDF got it. They're in this uh, Guk place. Yeah, so now if you high levelin' guys wouldn't mind just going over there to do your thing, kill the big bad whatever and all, that would be great. Now back to hackin' at this crazy scarecrow fella...oh #*%&! His face fell off!! Oh that's a hoot!

I don't konw if any of you read the lore, but I did. It says that in the Ogre's conquest to rule the entire world of Norrath they attacked their foes, the Frogloks. While attacking the city, I can't remember the name of that city, Gukta I think it was, the Frogloks remaining in the city during the battle escaped into Guk. They were never found by the Ogre warlords once they had killed every other Froglok in their path. My guess is, they are in Guk, hiding somewhere, and hopefully there will be a server based adventure to get them out.

Heh, Frogloks = Jedi , Spirit Shards = Lineage, What has Sony done? There's no rezzing out of group, and kiting? what the heck lol, you try to run you get waxed basically, mob's are QUICK, anyone notice a difference with SoW? Pfft like barely any, You can barely run, the HP/ac system should be more balanced, the quests are broken half the time (Think Pretty horses in TS) People wanting to sell to merchants rather then people? Hmm lemme think, Everquest II : Offline Version!, Anyways... I hope we can find something about Froglok's getting unlocked, I think you might have to talk to Antonia Bayle, Some frogloks in SQ tell you Antonia is calling her people, they are trying to find the rest of there Kin, perhaps talking to Antonia Bayle about it might help? If you could... Lots of frogloks giving quests, but that's already been mentioned, I wouldnt doubt if the quest would have to do with extremely high TS/level's (think Jedi) And would be a long involved quest, where one shapes his TS abilities and fight's 2 group ^^ mob's at the same time! Doomsquall? Not mentioned in TS bestiary, but I heard of a froglok talking about that in Qeynos Harbor, maybe ya need to wax him to get a quest drop to start it? It might possibly be something like that, a drop (Think a Foul wind or something) That sends ya all over the place! Just reminiscing hope any of this helps with yer finding of information on unlocking Frogloks!

Don't know if anyone said this yet, as I haven't been able to read it all. But I just wanted to say, there is an ogre that gives clues to you in the middle of big bend, I forget his name, but he is there.

According to Faarwolf ( SOE Employee and forum moderator for those that dont know), Its a serverwide quest. She also said " Im curious which server will unlock it first" which indicates that its not a GM driven quest, since those would either happen at the same time, or in a specific order.

Other Faarwolf quotes:

-It's not a class like Jedi. Once unlocked for a server, anyone can play one.

-They are unlocked as part of a server-wide quest and cannot be played until then (although you'll see some Froglok NPC's around). When the quest is finished depends on the people on the server

Anzak... moron - learn the difference between a "species" and a "race"... Are frogs really the "species" that should be in servitude when idiots like you pretend that they aren't really lucky to be as high up on the food chain as you are? God, I hate stupid people...

Well it's looking like Frogloks will be an expansion pack thing. Notice how every map is missing Innothule? So, I think they'll open up Innothule in an expansion sometime.

that may be true... but we don't know that the frogloks will be *in* innothule.

it's been stated several times that the unlock for the playable race is a player-driven quest, not a gm or soe triggered release.

Got a thought for you:

The Frogish races of Norath were not just located in one central location. Just about any swamp contained our web footed friends. However the lore does point to them being hidden in Guk. I have a theory that might work out to some extent. In EQ1 there were many stages to Guk, apparently it was a sprawling zone with limitless depth. However at some point a wounded band of retreating frogies would run into their evil brethren of deepepest Guk or for that matter the nasty undead of Lower Guk. So where does that leave us to search? Ask the troll in the Inny swamp of EQ1… the one that tells you why the undead are there in the first place……

Ahhh who am I kidding it will be in an expansion and if you are lucky you might get a junky keychain for purchasing it. Or it will be an instanced raid zone and it will be way under conned so your crew will get slapped and you will have dept for a month.

For what it's worth, I saw a player hopping around the other day when I was in the Commonlands. I'm not 100% sure it was a player and not an NPC, but I have searched over and over in the Commonlands since, and have not found any froggie NPCs.

I read something the other day that might explain this sighting. Supposedly, if you complete one of the racial bone collections you get a "Petrified Eye of Whatever-race-it-was". The petrified eye supposedly casts an illusion on you to make you look like a member of that race. So, if some PC on Kithicor has searched the continent and found all the Froglok bone fragments then they might have hopped by with the illusion on.

Note: I say "supposedly" because I have not personally seen one of these eyes, just read about them in a forum post.

Well I saw Froglocks in beta. I believe this to be a player based quest. I've heard nothing about a GM event except for the few mentions of it here. I would imagine that those who want to play frogs can do the quest and those who don't won't. I haven't come across any info on it yet but will keep an eye out for it. =)

i think frogs will come out in a future expansion and is not a quest at the current time expecialy seeing as froglok eyes dont let you cast the illusion yet, but who know maybe there some secret to getting frog legs that no one knows about

Nothing new to report, and Im close to the endgame now.
Found a few interesting possibilities that expired once explored, and several that were broken text.
Obviously, SOE hasn't completed this "access quest" they are duping everyone into believing is player driven, and will release the wretched and ridiculous frogloks on a future expansion. Or at least the "quest" will become available then. For now, sto worrying about them. Too many broken quests and tradeskill errors that need straightning out to be concerned with trying to solve this mystery just now.
On the other hand, if anyone happens to dig up anything intersting, please post away, I would be thrilled to see that this "quest" actually works, and I just missed the key somehow.

Take a look at the new update news:

- Tons of new quests, mostly for solo players!

- Two new dungeons available for groups at levels 25 to 30!

-----------------------------------------------------------------

- Rumor has it that a vile creature named Gobblerock has taken up residence in a newly discovered section of the Freeport Sewers. Those brave enough to end this threat to the Overlord's domain should consult knowledgeable individuals south of the Freeport gates.

- Sources in Qeynos tell us that a previously condemned section of the Catacombs has been reopened. This new area contains some rather formidable adversaries that threaten the city. Faithful servants of the Queen should seek out more information at the lookout point east of the Oracle Tower in Antonica.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Dunno if it has anything to do with the froglocks although i let you decide whether to believe so or not

anyway the new update seems to be quite good and that remove many buggs in the game :)

Guk wasn't the only place to have froglocks. If anyone here has been to Old Sebilis in EQ1, then you know what i'm talking about. Actually there were froglocks all over Kunark. Just as gnolls were to Qeynos and orcs were to Freeport, froglocks were to Cabilis. I don't think there is much of Kunark left (that hasn't been re-discovered), so maybe that's not the answer.

But the EQ2 manual doesn't say anything about froglocks where it says the stats and such of the other races. It's a considerable possibility that an EQ2 expansion will have the froglock quest. And anyway, even if it is on another expansion, so what? You guys act like you've never had to buy an expansion before. Do you expect SoE to give it to you for free? If they didn't charge for you to play then the game would be low-budget crap.

And what's with the froglock hating on this thread? When the Iksar came out no one hated them. When the Vah Shir (a breed of Kerran royalty that got translocated to Luclan during the Erudite civil war) came out no one hated them either. But when froglocks came out, people were upset and mad. I have no clue how a frog is any different that a lizard or a cat. And it's not like froglocks were just 'invented' like the Vah Shir and Iksar were. Froglocks were in EQ1 the day it came out. If SoE had chosen to make gnolls or orcs a playable race instead of froglocks would you have started hating them?
