Unlocking FroglocksFollow

#52 Nov 15 2004 at 9:31 PM Rating: Decent
You'll have to become lvl 20 in 5-8 randomly picked professions, including trade skill professions

Let the grind fest begin!

or

Frogloks, will be unlocked by a serverwide event. If the server fails to complete the event, that server doesn't get to use frogloks. If the server does complete the event, it does get to use frogloks.

hmmm the Troll in big bend mentioned a swamp he used to live in that started to boil.... just a guess but isn't Lavastorm a very hot place?

Trolls used to live in Innothule Swamp until the Froglocks took over their home city of Grobb. Lavastorm never was a swamp in any of the lore. The only swamp was Innothule, which connected between South Ro, and Feerrott which was similar to a dark swamp, but was more of a jungle area. That is where the Lizards of Cazic-Thule and the Ogres lived - it also provided access to the Plane of Fear.

I believe that the key to unlocking the Froglocks resides somewhere in Innothule Swamp or the depths of Guk. It may be possible that they were even pushed out of Guk - or because of the Rending they were displaced to the Plane of Earth...?

They may have even been enslaved again by the Trolls, or I should say - a lost faction of trolls which still may live in Innothule.

I am under the inclination that since the lore talks about the eggs being taken it might have something to do with eggs needing to be retrieve. If this is the case then everyone on the server would have to loot one and turn it in somewhere. Look for a Froggy that you can hear a story from. If I am wrong I am wrong, but it makes sense.

I am seriously under the inclination that the Key Quest that you find around Antonica1-9 may be what gets the ball rolling. After all we do have to unlock the Froggies from Slavery in Guk.

Also there is a Chain Link quest that starts when you examine a pair of shackles that are dropped on the forbidden isle. If I remember correctly there was undead in Lower Guk in eq1, maybe that is the beginning.

Walking around and talking to the NPC froggies wouldn't hurt, they sometimes give you a ton of lore info, like that halfling moping by the stream in Baubleshire.

I may just be wrong so don't flame me to bad for enjoying the game. Sincerely Deuteronomi of Lans Tvyl.

If you look at a new map of Norrath, Innothule Swamp isn't listed on there. Feerrott is there, but when Luclin blew up it sent pieces of the moon crashing to the planet (which is what helped changed the current topology). That could be what the troll was referring to, but then again that makes no sense either since the trolls had been driven out of Innothule.

Also, look where Lavastorm is now, way up north next to Everfrost. My guess (just a guess) would be either on the continent of Zek or Feerrott. But then again they are froggies, maybe they have an underwater city or something. The Lost City of Guk could be underwater now.

C'mon guys, think outside the box. I'll bet SOE screwed something up on the Class, couldn't get it fixed for launch, and are now creating a brilliant plot to unlock the class (once it's fixed or whatever). Throw some NPCs out there to make some noise, create a quest at your leisure, no one's the wiser. Genius. We keep paying them don't we?! lol

...Luclin blew up as I recall. It's awfully hard to flee to a destroyed moon.

I'm not sure if it's any help but in the lore for EQ2 on the website it states that some of the Frogloks were led into Guk to save them from the incoming Rallosian army. They also mention that some Ancient Evil is deep within Guk.

I believe this Ancient Evil is what's actually taken control of the Frogloks. Finding it is probably the key.

Just my 2cp.

Thanks

Either the designers made a mistake, or that's not Luclin. If you watch the intro movie when you make a character that does the tutorial, it specifically mentions Luclin exploded (with a nice picture of the boomage).

The very same intro movie mentions that the frogloks were driven into Guk. I still believe the key to unlocking them lies there. But at the rate I've been crafting bags for people lately, I don't think I'll ever see Guk heh.

Froglocks may be good at something what it is i just dont know.

Luclin may be blown up, but it's not gone. Look at the night sky their are millions of pieces floating around. Makes for a spectacular view. Wether or not those pieces are habitable or not more than likely depends on the power of magic being used to sustain life on those pieces. Which in all likelyhood is none. But it's still their and is still a possibility no matter how remote.

Well... Call me crazy but I’d imagine with this talk of "burning" and "tormented Frogloks" annnd a dragon in the same zone as old guk... there might be a connection.

Perhaps something like the sleeper in EQ1?

A server changing event that only happens once?

Beat the bad dragon and free the little froggies?

It will be unlocked when SoE finishes writing the needed code and game material. SoE learn adding new content to a game every 4 months keeps the $$ and players comming in.

Bah...it's easy. I read it on UnEndingCamping.com.

Everyone on your server needs to get that idol from Raster, the cloak from Quillmane, the map from Stormfeather, has to die above level 30 to get a pristine soul gem and get flagged through a 20 minute trial with 50 level 50 enchanter based mobs.

I'll be there next week, as the line is all ready forming.

According to Moorguard the island of Zek is made up of parts of Surefall Glades, Jaggedpine Forest and Nedaria's Landing. He also mentioned that Rangers and Druids will be horrified by what they will find there.

The Peat Bog is actually what remains of the Forest of the Unkempt Druids. This a zone that exists in EQ1 but is locked like Plane of War, Plane of the Underfoot are and Veksar was. The "zone in" for it can be found over by the Poteimids in JP, it is that tunnel.

From what I have learned about EQ2 and the lore behind it my guess is that the land that contains Guk is yet to be discovered and I will guess that the information to unlock the quest will come from somewhere in the Feerott OR Cazic Thule.

Here are my reasons for thinking the way I do....

-In the lore it has been stated that the Guktans took the hatchery and the survivors of the battle deep into lower Guk and barricaded themselves in.

-Take a look at this map. http://eq2.warcry.com/scripts/images/view_image.phtml?id=47478&site=68 The Feerott is the closest land above water to the location of Guk. The Deserts of Ro and Oasis are gone (/mourn I liked those zones). Feerott is a higher level zone and people who can get into a zone such as this would be the ones who would be able to carry out the actions neeed to unlock the Frogloks.

-SoE has stated that there are undiscoverd lands out there in game that will require quests to unlock and that there are about 100 zones in the game at release, think we only know about 1/3 of them. Moorguard said that not all the zones and lands are on the map initially and need to be discovered by adventurers. He also said that Velious still exists, though in a much altered state.

-There is a dwarf on the docks in Qeynos Harbor that talks of the Rallosian armies and getting adventurers to help cleanse The Feerott. When I hail him he just tells me I am too young to be of any use.

The '100 zones' is easily disproven by a simple look at your zone information directy; if there's no file there, it's not a zone yet. As I recall, there are about 35ish zones. Neither Innothule or Guk are there.

There's an Ogre at the Freeport docks who asks the same thing. You need to be much higher level to get the access quest.

Dunno bout the lag, but the Faeries are all dead along with their walking trees / roots. I've slaughtered them many many times. Smiley: sly

I also want to comment on the zones, I read someone saying that since there is no zone file that it doesn't exsist. Well, they could be there and you haven't downloaded the zone file, because you've not unlocked it. SOE is doing 2 a bit different then the way they did 1. Just throwing a bone.

100 zones is a stretch though..
#76 Nov 19 2004 at 11:57 AM Rating: Decent
If that were true, after unlocking the zone you'd have to quit out of the game, rerun the patcher (which would have to have a specific flag depending upon if you're logged into an account that has unlocked the zone) and have it punt you the file.

In a word; no.
