Well, people still seem pretty willing to help out with the newer content. Can you blame those who don't want to help someone with the Rank 5 fights for the 100th time? Or those who don't want to go do the level cap quests again?
first up i find it hard finding people help with newer content like the wotg quests.
stuff like rank missions and cop i hope will start to get easier from the next update. why ? well because the level increase, and the cop areas having no cap will suddenly make the solo aspect of the game open up and will only get better for old content once the cap goes up.
the dragon fight and 5-1 will still be problems though but shadow lord you can solo at the moment, did it pld /war and will be eaiser once cap goes up.

Don't blame SE, every MMO in the market nowadays has become a disappointment. I think the current formula of MMOs in general has passed it's freshness date. Sad to say but I'm not even expecting much out of the new Star Wars MMO, let alone FF14. It's no longer about the fun an exploration as it is about exploiting the math of the game as much as possible, and unless a game developer figures out how to completely destroy that pattern, it's just going to repeat itself.
i have big hopes for both star wars and ff14 , from what i read of ff14 hopefully it wont have levels and only skills so will be quicker to get a good build, in ff11 i have a problem where i main paladin with capped sword, evasion and divine skills but i need level up another job to be able do content in the game so i hope ff14 improves on this situation.
ff10 is now my longest played online game , longer than my ultima online playtime and that was a fair bit so yes its showing it age fairly badly now but there still things good about it which i hope ff14 will improve on.
star wars looks intresting and might be game which take wow crown as mmorg to the massive , but ff14 i think will need prove itself more than starwars but think it going be a great game.
